Here's a little cultural lesson for today! Do you know what a bōnenkai is? Literally a "forget the year gathering", it's typically a party held at the end of the year between coworkers, friends etc. It's about forgetting the troubles of the year that's passed, and looking forward to what the new year can bring.

While it's usually held with quite a lot of alcohol at an izakaya (casual Japanese bar), it's something that us members of the International staff can't quite do since we're in different countries 🤣🤣 So what we're doing instead is playing some online games, drinking what we have available, and chatting instead~

It'll still be nice, though I hope to have the opportunity to join a bōnenkai in person if I can go to Japan by the end of next year! I have a great team who help me a lot, especially with matters in Japanese and whenever I'm not around. I'm sure you have been helped lots by them too, even if you didn't know it!
