It's true we don't really celebrate it in Singapore, but it's nice seeing people get into the spirit despite that, and the pandemic! I see malls and shops decked out with Halloween decorations, Halloween promotions everywhere… maybe it's just another excuse to rake in extra money, but hey, it's a good dose of spooky fun, right?
However, I did see a group of people all dressed up today! I was at the restaurant where we hold the interview, and there were several people all dressed up – there was Ha○○y Potter, the Queen of England, and more. Even the staff had some added flair to their uniforms – aprons with blood spatter patterns, masks that looked like a clown's face (or more blood spatters), things like that! That was pretty fun to see~
I have very little experience with anything Halloween (since I always had school or work, and couldn't dress up for them). Yep, the only time was when I was assigned the role of a zombie at my polytechnic's Halloween haunted house… At least, I think it was Halloween, I can't remember very clearly since it was so long ago 🤣 But I do remember how my senior mentioned that there was a "something" following me that made me sick that night… I don't know if she ever was kidding, but she was reputed to be able to see spirits and all that. And I did get very randomly sick that night – I was feeling perfectly fine until the actual event, suddenly getting a fever and nausea. That… is my one Halloween experience 😱😱
I probably have more stories of my own around the 7th Lunar Month though. Now that, I believe wholeheartedly. Call me superstitious if you will, but that's always a scary time of the year for me! Do you have any spooky tales of your own to share? Let me know in the comments if you'd like~
